            What is MetricBridge?
            
MetricBridge is an iOS app by Philip D'Souza (App Store ID 6784185201) at healthexport.dev. It exports 190 Apple Health and Apple Watch metrics as clean local JSON and ships a zero-dependency MCP server so agents like Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and opencode can query them read-only. MetricBridge is a different product from other similarly named Apple Health export apps and is not affiliated with them.

          

          

            How do I export Apple Health data to JSON?
            
Install MetricBridge on iOS and connect Apple Health read-only. MetricBridge exports 190 Apple Health and Apple Watch metrics as clean, structured JSON to a destination you choose (iCloud Drive, a synced folder, your local network, or a webhook) with full units and metadata preserved, so you skip the raw export.xml mess.

An Apple Health MCP server is a Model Context Protocol server that exposes your Apple Health data to AI agents as live tools they can call on demand. MetricBridge ships 7 native read-only MCP tools, so agents query your metrics in plain language instead of parsing a static file dump.

          

          

            How do I connect Apple Health to Claude, Cursor, or other AI agents?
            
After MetricBridge syncs your data locally, connect your agent in one click for Cursor or Claude Desktop, or copy the MCP config for any other client.             Does the AI run on my iPhone or in the cloud?
            
On your iPhone. When you use Ask or the Weekly Health Brief, the statistics are computed on the device and the language model that phrases the answer also runs on the device. Your health data is never sent to us or to any cloud AI service. On iPhones without a built-in system model, the app can download an optional model file once so it can still run locally.

          

          

            What can I ask MetricBridge about my health data?
            
Plain-language questions about your own Apple Health data, such as “compare my HRV this week vs last” or “how has my resting heart rate changed over 90 days”. Every answer shows a provenance strip (the metric, the date range and the sample count) so you can check exactly which days the number was built from. It is wellness information, not medical advice: it describes your own data and how it deviates from your personal baseline, and it does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition.

          

          

            How much does MetricBridge cost?
            
One purchase. Everything included. No subscription. A single one-time purchase unlocks full export, all 14 MCP tools, on-device Ask answers with provenance, and the Weekly Health Brief.             What happens when the free trial ends?
            
Exports and Ask pause. Reading your data, your settings and the open source MCP server stay free. Unlock once and everything resumes. Nothing is charged automatically because no payment method is ever stored.

          

          

            How far back does the export go?
            
All of it. The first export backfills your entire Apple Health history (every day Apple Health holds, going back to your oldest recorded sample) and every export after that keeps it current. Tap “Export all” on the Schedule tab to run it; it reads in bounded batches so it stays within iOS memory limits, shows progress as it goes, and picks up where it left off if you lock your phone (Apple Health cannot be read while the device is locked). The scheduled exports afterwards only need to fetch what is new.

          

          

            Is exporting Apple Health data to AI private?
            
Yes. MetricBridge is read-only and local-first. The MCP server runs on the machine where your agent runs, makes zero network calls, and your data only ever reaches the endpoint you configure. There are no accounts, no health telemetry, and nothing is stored on our servers. The iOS app does include advertising measurement (app events such as an install or a purchase, never health data), and iOS asks your permission before anything is sent, so you can decline.
